Office of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Hojai, Assam has invited applications from eligible & suitable candidates for the recruitment of Office Peon, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel.

1. Office Peon (Contractual – 1 Year)

No. of posts: 1

Pay Scale: ₹10,000 – ₹12,000 per month

Age: 18–38 years (as of 01.01.2025; relaxation as per govt. rules)

Education: Passed Class VIII but not passed HSLC

2. Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel (Contractual – 2 Years, Extendable)

No. of posts: 1

Pay Scale: ₹40,000 – ₹60,000 per month

Qualification:

• Minimum 7 years of practice in criminal law
• Excellent knowledge of criminal law, communication skills, and legal research
• Must have handled at least 20 criminal trials in Sessions Courts
• IT proficiency required

Selection Process:

The mode of selection with respect to the above-mentioned posts shall be through Personal interview/ Viva-voce only.

For Office Peon: Submit applications in standard form (Assam Gazette Part-IX) along with:

• 3 passport-size photos
• Age proof, educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable)
• Employment Exchange card copy

For Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel: Use the prescribed NALSA application form. Attach:

• Educational and enrollment certificates
• Experience proof from Bar Association
• Judgments from 5 Sessions cases (as defense lawyer)
• Cross-examination copies from 5 Sessions cases
• ITR for last 3 years (if available)
