Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHRB), Assam has released a notification inviting online applications for 560 Medical & Health Officer-I (M&HO-I) posts or its equivalent ranks under Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of Assam and 599 Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident Physician etc. posts under Government Medical College & Hospitals under Medical Education & Research Department.

MHRB Assam Vacancy Details:
1. Medical & Health Officer-I (M&HO-I)

Salary: Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000 + Grade Pay ₹12,700, along with other applicable allowances under Assam Government rules.
Age Limit: Be between 21 and 38 years of age as on 01 January 2026. Upper-age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per government rules.
Educational Qualification:
- Have an MBBS degree from a recognized university.
- Be registered with the Assam Medical Council.
2. Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident Physician etc.
No of Posts: 599
Scale of pay: Rs. 57,7000/- – Rs. 1,82,400/- PM (Academic level 10) plus other allowances as admissible under Rules .
Age Limit: Age of the candidates should not be less than 21 Years and more than 45 Years of age as on 01.01.2026, irrespective of category of applicants (As per Govt. OM No.ABP.55/2023/25 dated 04.07.2023).
Educational Qualification:
➡ Broad Speciality:
- Candidates must have MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject from a university/institute recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or National Board of Examinations (NBE).
- This applies to departments such as Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, O&G, Pathology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Radiodiagnosis, Surgery, Community Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, and others.
➡ Anatomy: MS (Anatomy) / MSc (Medical Anatomy) with PhD in Medical Anatomy.
➡ Biochemistry: MD (Biochemistry) / MSc (Medical Biochemistry) with PhD in Medical Biochemistry.
➡ Physiology: MD (Physiology) / MSc (Medical Physiology) with PhD in Medical Physiology.
➡ Medical Super Speciality: MD/DNB in General Medicine for Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology and Medical Oncology.
➡ Surgical Super Speciality: MS/DNB in General Surgery for Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neurosurgery, Urology and Paediatric Surgery.
➡ Preference: Candidates with DM, M.Ch. or DNB in the relevant super-speciality will receive preference/weightage.
Application Fee:
- General: ₹250
- OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H): ₹150
- PwD candidates: No fee
The fee can be paid through Treasury Challan or GRAS. The fee is non-refundable.
Selection Process:
The selection procedure will be announced later by the Board. The selection method will depend on the number of applications received.
