Educational Qualification: Passed 10th standard with Mathematics and English from a recognized board.
Age Limit: Age between 18 to 40 years (relaxations available: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD)
Special Language Requirements: Candidates applying for positions in Arunachal Pradesh must know English/Hindi plus any tribal dialect. Goa applicants need Konkani or Marathi proficiency, while Sikkim positions require English plus one of twelve specified local languages.
Salary and Benefits of India Post GDS Latest Recruitment:
Selected candidates receive Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with annual increments:
- BPMs earn between ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 monthly
- ABPMs and Dak Sevaks receive ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 monthly
- Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance, GDS Gratuity, and Service Discharge Benefit Scheme (similar to pension provisions)
Other Eligibility Criteria:
- Studied the local language of the applied region up to 10th grade
- Basic computer knowledge and cycling ability required
- Must reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the applied post office
Selection Process of India Post GDS Vacancy 2026:
Selection is purely merit-based using 10th standard marks:
- System-generated merit list prepared from SSC percentage (converted to 4 decimal accuracy)
- Tie-breakers follow priority: older candidates first, then gender and category considerations
- No interviews or written exams were conducted
