The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has announced a major recruitment drive for the position of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical (ACIO-II/Tech).

Classification: General Central Service, Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial)
Total Vacancies: 258
- Computer Science & IT: 90 posts
- Electronics & Communication: 168 posts
Pay Scale: Level 7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) plus allowances including Special Security Allowance @20% of basic pay
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have:
A valid GATE 2023, 2024, or 2025 score in Electronics & Communication (EC) or Computer Science & IT (CS)
AND one of the following degrees:
B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, ECE, ETE, EEE, IT, CS, Computer Engineering, or CSE
OR M.Sc. in Electronics, Computer Science, Physics with Electronics, or MCA from a recognized university/institute
Age Limit (as on 16.11.2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 27 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC: +3 years
For departmental candidates, widows, divorced women, ex-servicemen, and sportspersons, as per government rules
Selection Process:
- Shortlisting based on GATE Score
- Skill Test (Practical & Technical) – 250 marks
- Interview – 175 marks
- Total Marks: 1175 (GATE: 750, Skill Test: 250, Interview: 175)
- Final merit list based on combined performance
Application Fee:
- All candidates: ₹100 (Recruitment Processing Charges)
- UR/EWS/OBC Male candidates: Additional ₹100 (Examination Fee)
- SC/ST, Female, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempt from examination fee
