UPSC Recruitment 2026:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications from eligible and intending candidates to recruit 80 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner Vacancies in Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Ministry of Labour & Employment.
UPSC Vacancy Details:
Name of Post: Assistant Soil Chemist
Number of Vacancies: 80
Pay Scale: Level- 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC
Essential Qualification: Degree of a recognised University or Equivalent.
Desirable: Diploma in Company Law / Labour Laws / Public Administration.
Age Limit:
- UR/EWS: Up to 35 years
- OBC: Up to 38 years
- SC/ST: Up to 40 years
- PwBD: Up to 56 years (with 10 years relaxation)
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- EPFO Employees: Up to 5 years
- Central/U.T. Government Servants: Up to 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 5 years
Application Fee:
- General/OBC/EWS (Male): ₹25
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women: Exempted from fee payment
Mode of Payment: Online payment through Debit/Credit Card/UPI/Net Banking.
Selection Process:
1. Recruitment Test (RT): Pen & Paper based Objective Type test (2 hours). Maximum marks: 300.
2. Interview: Maximum marks: 100.
3. Final Selection: Based on combined merit (75% weightage to RT and 25% to Interview).
Syllabus for RT: General English, Indian Culture & Heritage, Developmental Issues & Indian Economy, Governance & Constitution, General Science & Computer Basics, Elementary Mathematics & Statistics, Industrial Relations & Labour Codes, Accountancy & Auditing, and Current Events.

2. Complete Account Creation and Universal Registration to get a URN.
3. Fill in the Common Application Form (CAF) and the Post/Vacancy Specific Module.
4. Upload required documents (photo, signature, educational certificates, etc.).
5. Pay the application fee (if applicable).
6. Submit the application and take a printout for future reference.
