The Government of Assam has announced the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 for the recruitment of teachers in Bodo, Garo, Manipuri, and Hmar medium schools at Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels. Duration of Exam: 2 Hours 30 Minutes for each Paper. An additional 20 minutes (per hour) will be provided for visually impaired candidates.

- Paper-I: Lower Primary (LP) (Class I to V)
- Paper-II: Upper Primary (UP) (Class VI to VIII)
Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
No of Questions: 150 MCQs for each Paper.
Negative marking: There is no negative marking.
Medium of Exam: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, and English
Validity of TET Certificate: TET Certificate has a lifetime validity.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Special TET Exam 2026:
✅For Paper I (Lower Primary):
- Senior Secondary (12th) with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (50%) + 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed
✅ For Paper II (Upper Primary):
- Graduation + 2-year D.El.EdOR
- Graduation (50% marks) + B.EdOR
- Senior Secondary (50%) + 4-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed / B.El.Ed
- Relaxation:
- 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PwD candidates
- PwD candidates must have at least 40% disability (certificate required)
Assam Special TET Exam Pattern:
✅ Paper I (LP) – 150 Questions, 150 Marks
- Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Q
- Language I (Bodo/Garo/Manipuri/Hmar) – 30 Q
- Language II (English) – 30 Q
- Mathematics – 30 Q
- Environmental Studies – 30 Q
✅ Paper II (UP) – 150 Questions, 150 Marks
- Child Development & Pedagogy – 30 Q
- Language I – 30 Q
- Language II (English) – 30 Q
🔴Choose one:
- Mathematics & Science – 60 Q
- Social Studies – 60 Q
🔴 Duration: 2.5 hours each paper
🔴 Marking: No negative marking
Qualifying Marks of Assam Special TET:
- General: 60% overall (90/150) + 60% in Language I (18/30)
- Reserved Categories: 55% overall (83/150) + 50% in Language I (15/30)
