1. Chauffeur (Driver)
No of Posts: 01
Pay Scale: PB-2 – ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 + Grade Pay ₹5,200 + Allowances
Age Limit (Maximum):
- UR: 40 years
- OBC/MOBC: 43 years
- SC/ST: 45 years
- PwBD: 50 years
Educational Qualification:
- Class X (HSLC) pass from a recognized Board.
- Valid LMV driving license.
- Valid Employment Exchange Registration Number for Assam.
Selection Process:
- Screening Test (50 marks): OMR-based objective test – Road Sign Recognition (20), General Knowledge (20), Assamese Language Proficiency (10 – qualifying in nature, min 5 marks).
- Driving Test (40 marks): Starting, driving, parking, and after driving (10 marks each).
- Interview/Viva-Voce (20 marks): Minimum 60% (12 marks) to qualify.
Final Merit: Based on Screening Test + Interview marks. Tie-breaker: Higher marks in Screening Test → Senior age.
2. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS)

Pay Scale: PB-1 – ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 + Grade Pay ₹3,900 + Allowances
Age Limit (Maximum):
- UR: 40 years
- OBC/MOBC: 43 years
- SC/ST: 45 years
- PwBD: 50 years
Educational Qualification:
- Class VIII pass (minimum).
- Important: Candidates who have passed HSLC (Class X) or above are not eligible . A declaration stating the same is mandatory.
- Valid Employment Exchange Registration Number for Assam.
Selection Process:
- Written Test (80 marks): Objective type on OMR sheet (duration and syllabus details in the notification).
- Interview/Viva-Voce (20 marks): Minimum 60% (12 marks) to qualify.
Final Merit: Based on Written Test + Interview marks. Tie-breaker: Higher marks in Written Test → Senior age.
3. Private Secretary (Stenographer Grade-I)
No of Posts: 03
Pay Scale: PB-4 – ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000 + Grade Pay ₹13,300 + Allowances
Age Limit (Maximum):
- OBC/MOBC: 41 years
- ST(P)/ST(H): 43 years
- PwBD: 48 years
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University (preferably with a diploma in Stenography in English).
- Minimum shorthand speed: 120 wpm.
- Minimum typing speed: 50 wpm on a computer.
- Law graduates will be given due weightage.
- Valid Employment Exchange Registration Number for Assam.
Selection Process:
1. Stenography Test (90 marks):
- Voice testing before dictation (2 minutes).
- Dictation at 120 wpm for 7 minutes (840 words).
- Computer/keyboard testing (3 minutes).
- Transcription time: 20 minutes.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 50% (45 out of 90).
2. Written Examination (100 marks – Qualifying in nature):
- English Composition, Essay, and Grammar (80 marks) – Minimum 40% (32 marks).
- Assamese Language (20 marks) – Minimum 40% (8 marks).
- Candidates in the ratio of 1:10 from the Stenography test merit list will be called.
3. Interview/Viva-Voce (30 marks):
- Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 from the Stenography test merit list (subject to qualifying in the written exam)
- Minimum qualifying marks: 60% (18 out of 30).
Final Merit: Based on Stenography Test + Interview marks. Tie-breaker: Higher marks in Stenography Test → Senior age.
