BTC Recruitment 2026:
The Directorate of Education, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Kokrajhar, Assam has released an advertisement for the recruitment of 72 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts.
BTC Vacancy Details:
Name of Post: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
No of Posts: 72
Pay Scale: Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 97,000, including Grade Pay of Rs. 11,800 (Pay Band-3) plus other allowances.
Educational Qualification:
- Must hold a Post Graduate degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognized university.
- Must possess a B.Ed. degree from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)
- The candidate must have studied the same subject at the degree level.
- Degrees obtained through off-campus or distance education mode will not be considered valid.
Medium-Specific Language Requirements:
Candidates must have passed HSLC with the respective language as a subject, hold a relevant diploma, or have studied up to HSLC level in the respective medium (Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, or English). For MIL subject teaching posts, passing HSLC with that particular MIL subject is considered sufficient.
Age Limit:
- Open Category: 21 to 38 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 40 years
- OBC/MOBC: Up to 41 years
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): Up to 43 years
- PwD: Up to 48 years
Selection Process:
Selection will be based on a TET cum Recruitment Test consisting of a 140-mark paper covering Pedagogy, About Assam and its People, General English, and General Studies & Current Affairs.
Additional Weightage (Up to 5 marks):
- NCC 'C' Certificate or 'B' Certificate
- Participation in recognized national-level sports representing Assam
- Achievements in Fine Arts and Cultural Activities at the national level
- Candidates who cleared the earlier Higher Secondary TET but were not appointed will get a 5% weightage of their TET marks (maximum 5 marks)
- Additional 5 marks for eligible candidates who worked on a 6-month contractual basis with BTC in 2025 in Mathematics and Science subjects
