Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released a massive recruitment notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is a golden opportunity for ITI pass-outs and candidates with a background in science to get apprenticeship training at various workshops, divisions, and units across the NFR jurisdiction. A total of 6777 slots are available across various trades and departments.

Age Limit: 15 - 24 years.

Monthly Stipend: Currently, Rs. 9,600 per month for NTC/STC holders (as per Government notification).

Educational Qualification:

For All Trades (Except Medical Lab Technician):
  • Passed Matriculation (Class 10) with minimum 50% aggregate marks (relaxed for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Must possess National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

For Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology & Radiology):
  • Passed 12th Science (10+2 system) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks in both Class 10 and Class 12.

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST – 5 years.
  • OBC – 3 years.
  • PwBD – 10 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen – 10 years + service rendered.

Application Fee: Rs. 100 (Non-refundable) for General/OBC candidates. SC, ST, PwBD, EBC, and Women candidates are exempted.

1. Visit the NFR official website: www.nfr.indianrailways.gov.in.

2. Click on the link for Act Apprentice Notification under the Personnel Department.

3. Register and fill in the online application form carefully.

4. Upload scanned copies of:
  • Photograph (as per specifications)
  • Signature
  • Matriculation (Class 10) Mark Sheet & Pass Certificate
  • ITI Mark Sheets & National Trade Certificate (Provisional or Final)
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet & Pass Certificate (for Medical Lab Technician posts)
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC)
  • EWS Certificate
  • Disability Certificate (PwBD)
  • Discharge/Serving Certificate (Ex-Servicemen)
  • EBC Certificate (for fee exemption)

5. Pay the application fee online (if applicable).

6. Submit the application and download a printout for future reference.
