1. Driver Constable
No of Posts: 7 Posts (For Male Candidates Only)
Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 (Pay Band-2) + ₹5,600/- + Allowances.
2. Driver
No of Posts: 106 Posts (74 Male, 32 Female)
Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 (Pay Band-2) + ₹5,200/- + Allowances.
Note: Includes reservation for Ex-Servicemen.
3. Forest Guard
No of Posts: 504 Posts
Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 (Pay Band-2) + ₹5,600/- + Allowances.
4. AFPF Constable
No of Posts: 405 Posts
Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 (Pay Band-2) + ₹5,600/- + Allowances.
5. Forester Grade-I
No of Posts: 211 Posts
Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 (Pay Band-2) + ₹6,400/- + Allowances.
6. Game Watcher
No of Posts: 74
Pay Scale: ₹14,000 - ₹70,000 (Pay Band-2) + ₹5,600/- + Allowances.
Age Limit (as on January 1, 2026):
- For Driver Constable: 18 to 25 years.
- For Driver Post: 18 to 40 years.
- Forester Grade-I, Forest Guard, Game Watcher: 18–40 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen (for Driver post only): Additional 2 years
Age Proof: HSLC/Matriculation Admit Card or Pass Certificate only.
Note:
1. Govt. of Assam has enhanced one (01) year in the upper age limit i.e. from 26 (twenty six) years to 27 (twenty seven) years for Recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector (UB) in Assam Police and from 24 (twenty four) years to 25 (twenty five) years for Recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector (AB) in Assam Commando Battalions under the Unreserved Category in the current Recruitment Cycle. (As updated on 13th February 2026)2. The age of the Applicants will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/HSLC Passed Certificate issued by a recognised Board/Council. No other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for this purpose.
Educational Qualification:
- HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognised board.
- Forester Grade-I: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Mandatory Requirement:
Valid Driving License for LMV or MMV or HMV.
Physical Standards:
- Height (Male): 162.5 cm (Gen/OBC/SC) | 160 cm (ST(P)/ST(H))
- Height (Female): 154 cm (Gen/OBC/SC) | 152 cm (ST(P)/ST(H))
- Chest (Male Only): Min 80 cm (Gen/OBC/SC/ST(P)) | 78 cm (ST(H)) (with 5 cm expansion)
- Medical Fitness: Must be in sound health with good vision.
- Forester Grade-I (Male): 163 cm (Gen/OBC/SC), 153 cm (ST)
- AFPF Constable (Male): 162.5 cm (Gen/OBC/SC), 160 cm (ST)
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected through a multi-stage process:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 40 Marks (Race & Long Jump)
- Medical Examination & Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Driving Test (Skill Test): 10 Marks (Pass marks: 5)
- Written Test: 50 Marks (100 MCQs on basic subjects and Assam-related topics)
- Oral/Viva Voce: 5 Marks
- Additional Weightage: Up to 5 marks for NCC certificates.
The final merit will be calculated based on the total marks out of 110.

All candidates for the 2025–2026 season must register a fresh and generate a new application ID.
