Assam Police Commando Battalion.Last Date: 28/02/2026.
The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, has announced a recruitment drive for 47 posts of Sub Inspector (AB) and 3 posts of Constable (AB) in the Assam Police Commando Battalions.

1. Sub Inspector (AB)
No of Posts: 47 Posts
- General/Unreserved: 21 posts
- OBC/MOBC: 12 posts
- SC: 3 posts

- Tea Tribes & Adivasi: 1 post
- Sports Person (Open Merit): 2 posts
Salary: Pay Scale of Rs. 14000-70000/- (Pay Band No. 2) and Grade Pay Rs. 8,700 as shown against each post, plus other Allowances, as admissible under the Rules.
Educational Qualification: Graduation in Arts/Science/Commerce from a recognized university.
2. Constable (AB)
No of Posts: 3 Posts
- General/Unreserved: 2 posts
- OBC/MOBC: 1 post
Salary: Pay Scale of Rs. 14000-70000/- (Pay Band No. 2) and Grade Pay Rs. 5,600 as shown against each post, plus other Allowances, as admissible under the Rules.
Educational Qualification: HSLC or equivalent from a recognized board.
3. Barber
No of Posts: 2 posts (Male)
Pay Scale: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 (Pay Band-1) + Grade Pay ₹3,900 + allowances
Educational Qualification: Class VIII passed from a recognized school/institution and SSC certificate or 1-year experience from a registered salon/beauty parlour (Add 5 Marks).
4. Water Carrier
No of Posts: 3 posts (Male)
Pay Scale: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 (Pay Band-1) + Grade Pay ₹3,900 + allowances
Educational Qualification: Class VIII passed from a recognized school/institution + SSC certificate (Add 5 Marks)
5. Plumber
No of Posts: 1 post (Male)
Pay Scale: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000 (Pay Band-1) + Grade Pay ₹3,900 + allowances
Educational Qualification: Class VIII to 10th passed from a recognized school/institution + 1-year certificate course from a recognized ITI/vocational institute (it adds 5 Marks)
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026):
- Sub Inspector (AB): 20 to 24 years
- Constable (AB): 18 to 21 years
- Other Posts: 18 to 25 Posts
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- National/International Sports Persons: Additional 3 years
Note:
1. Govt. of Assam has enhanced one (01) year in the upper age limit i.e. from 26 (twenty six) years to 27 (twenty seven) years for Recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector (UB) in Assam Police and from 24 (twenty four) years to 25 (twenty five) years for Recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector (AB) in Assam Commando Battalions under the Unreserved Category in the current Recruitment Cycle. (As updated on 13th February 2026)2. The age of the Applicants will be calculated based on the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/HSLC Passed Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council. No other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for this purpose.
Physical Standards for Assam Police Commando Recruitment 2026:
✅ Height (Male):
- General: 167 cm
- OBC/MOBC/SC: 162 cm
- ST(P)/ST(H)/Gorkha: 160 cm
✅ Height (Female):
- General: 162 cm
- OBC/MOBC/SC: 157 cm
- ST(P)/ST(H)/Gorkha: 152.4 cm
✅ Chest (Only for Men):
- General/OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P): Minimum 85 cm (expansion +5 cm)
- ST(H): Minimum 80 cm (expansion +5 cm)
Medical Standards for Assam Commando Battalion Vacancy 2026:
- Good mental and physical health is required.
- Eyesight: 6/6 in one eye, not worse than 6/9 in the other (without correction).
- Free from diseases like diabetes, heart issues, hernia, color blindness, etc.
