The exam is being held for direct recruitment to Group 'B' Non-Gazetted (Stenographer Grade 'C') and Group 'C' (Stenographer Grade 'D') posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India.

Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
Age Limit (as on August 1, 2026):
- Stenographer Grade 'C': 18 to 30 years
- (Born between August 2, 1996 and August 1, 2008)
- Stenographer Grade 'D': 18 to 27 years
- (Born between August 2, 1999 and August 1, 2008)
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD (Unreserved/EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after deduction of military service
- Central Govt. Civilian Employees (3+ years service): Up to 40 years (45 for SC/ST)
- Widows/Divorced Women: Up to 35 years (40 for SC/ST)
Application Fees:
- Fee: ₹100
- Exempted categories: Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen (eligible for reservation)
- Payment mode: Online only (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card)
How to Apply:
Interested and suitable candidates who have fulfilled the above-mentioned eligibility criteria may apply online through the official recruitment of the Staff Selection Commission. Must follow the below steps guide carefully -
- Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new portal (old OTR from ssc.nic.in is not valid).
- Log in and fill the online application form for Stenographer Grade 'C' & 'D' Examination, 2026.
- Capture your live photograph using the webcam/mobile module (no pre-existing photo allowed unless using Aadhaar authentication).
- Upload scanned signature (JPEG, 10-20 KB, approx 6cm x 2cm).
- Pay fee (if not exempted) and submit.
- Take a printout for your records.
