1. Scientific Assistant
No of Posts: 01
Age Limit: 28 years (ST candidates get 5 years relaxation – effective upper age 33 years)
Pay Scale: Level 6 of Pay Matrix – ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 + applicable allowances
Mode of Selection: Written Test
Educational Qualification:
- B.Sc. with Mathematics / Physics / Computer Science / Electronics with first class (60% marks) from a recognized board/university OR
- Three-year Diploma in Computer Engineering / Electronics with first class (60% marks)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Knowledge about Operational Ocean Information and advisory services
- Knowledge about Ocean observations (in-situ, Remote Sensing, ship-based), laboratory analysis, processing of high-resolution ocean/atmospheric data (bio-optical, physico-chemical & fisheries data)
- Hands-on experience on data analysis software (Ferret, Python, GRADS, ODV), programming languages (Matlab, C, Fortran), AI & ML applications, GIS application development
2. Scientific Assistant
No of Posts: 01
Age Limit: 28 years (no relaxation for UR)
Pay Scale: Level 6 – ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 + allowances
Essential Qualification:
- B.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Computer Science / Electronics with first class (60% marks) from a recognized board/university
Desirable Qualifications:
- Good science communication skills in English
- Experience in project management, scientific documentation, public relations, scientific outreach activities, scientific content creation
- Certification/Diploma/Degree in mass communication / communicative English / English Literature / science communication (after essential qualification)
- Knowledge of ocean sciences/services, ocean observations
- Sound working experience in office automation systems – e-office, e-HRMS, SAP
3. Scientific Assistant (Library)
No of Posts: 01
Age Limit: 28 years
Pay Scale: Level 6 – ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 + allowances
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science (B.Lib.Sc.) after completing a first class degree (60% marks) in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent from a recognized board/university
Desirable Qualification:
- Professional experience in a Library of Central/State Government / Autonomous or Statutory Organization / PSU / University / recognized research or educational institution
4. Scientist ‘C’ (Deputation)
No of Posts: 01
Age Limit: 56 years
Pay Scale: Level 11 of Pay Matrix – ₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700 + allowances
Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc., M.Tech., M.S., MCA) in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / Data Science OR
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Computer Science / Information Technology / Data Science
- At least 3 years or more experience in developing / maintaining ERP applications like SAP with good knowledge of administration, accounts, and procurement of central/state government establishments
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Applications
- Certifications in development/maintenance of ERP solutions
5. Scientist ‘C’ (Deputation) – Oceanography
No of Posts: 01
Age Limit: 56 years
Pay Scale: Level 11 – ₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700 + allowances
Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Master's Degree (M.Sc., M.Tech.) in Oceanography / Marine Sciences / Climate Sciences
- At least 3 years or more experience in ocean observations, ocean data processing and analysis
- At least 02 research publications in the relevant field in reputed peer-reviewed SCI journals
Desirable Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Ocean Science / Oceanography / Marine Science or related fields
Age Relaxation:
- ST candidates: 5 years relaxation (28 → 33 years)
- UR candidates: No age relaxation
- Central Government / INCOIS regular employees (minimum 3 years regular service): up to 5 years relaxation
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines
