The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has recently announced an employment notification for the recruitment of 02 Eminent External Professional (Transport Planner) and Eminent External Professional (Transport Economist) vacancies.

1. Eminent External Professional (Transport Planner)
Number of Vacancies: 01
Age Limit: Up to 65 years.
Salary: EEP posts will be filled on a contract basis in Transport Planning, with remuneration decided by the Remuneration Committee and approved by the National Highways Authority of India Chairman, from experienced candidates (earning above ₹60 lakh annually) with verified salary and ITR records from the past three years.
Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Professionals from Open Market, Research Fellows/ Scholars from Educational institutions such as Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other recognized Universities/ Institutions of national and international repute/ADB/World Bank and other multilateral institutions, possessing the following eligibility criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a University or Institute; and
- Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Transport Planning from a University or Institute; and
- Minimum 5 Years of experience in the field of transport planning/highway planning/ traffic engineering/ mobility planning/modelling, or experience in assessment of transport project, preferably road projects.
2. Eminent External Professional (Transport Economist)
Number of Vacancies: 01
Age Limit: Up to 65 years.
Salary: EEP posts will be filled on a contract basis in Transport Planning, with remuneration decided by the Remuneration Committee and approved by the National Highways Authority of India Chairman, from experienced candidates (earning above ₹60 lakh annually) with verified salary and ITR records from the past three years.

- Master’s Degree in Economics from a recognized University or Institute; and
- Minimum 5 Years of experience in economic analysis of financial appraisal of projects, preferably in the transport or road sector.
